Big week for me...

On Friday, I finally will have an associate of arts degree. Saturday I turn 25. Good times, man. See Mom & Dad, I did finish something!

Yard sales & goodwill!

I love both. It's like a treasure hunt & you have dig and dig, and sometimes barter. And if you enjoy when you save 5 cents at a grocery store, or correct the waitress when she overcharges you by 50 cents, then you should seriously consider this as a hobby!! =) We spent 30 dollars on Saturday. We got a ton of clothes too! Kenney got 5 or 6 nice dress shirts for work, a brand new jacket (that still had the tags on it & said it was normally 40 bucks!), a huge bag of baby clothes, a maternity shirt (brand new from target) and a brand new liz lange maternity dress from target. Target donates things to Goodwill each week, and early Saturday morning is when the put the Target stuff out! So I was super excited. We also got Braydon a Peter Pan movie & a little mermaid movie (don't ask!) =) and Kenney a couple of books. It was quite a successful day! Heres the new Target dress that I got from Goodwill!

Of tires and policemen....

Ugh. Kenney got a flat tire the other day on his commute home from work in Raleigh. So, I took it to get the tires replaced today. Lo, and behold, I got pulled over for something that should've been taken care of a long time ago. I explained to the nice officer about how it was my husband's car, we were on our way to get new tires, and that I had been after my husband about why he pulled me over for a while now. Of all the times to get pulled over, it had to be when i was driving the car. Oh well. Thankfully, Mr. policeman was very nice & let me go. He even gave Braydon a sticker, which Braydon was so excited about. Needless to day, it will be taken care of by the end of tomorrow. =)

My Husband, the golf pro...

So today, Kenney entered into uncharted waters for him...He went golfing with the guys from our Bible Fellowship Group at church. I was very excited that he got to go have a guys day, and they're the perfect group of guys to learn with because they're hilarious. I really enjoy our group from church. Good Times! And look out, we may have a Tiger woods on our hands.

P.S. and then maybe we can claim Tiger Woods back from the Asians in the race draft! HAHAHA!

The Return of Myrtle, only pregnant....

You may know who Myrtle is, but just in case you don't, Myrtle is one of my alter egos. She was named by my sister in a store one day. My sister says that I sometimes have the taste of an old woman regarding clothing, and so one day when I said that I liked something in the store my sister said "Ok Myrtle, where's my sister Christy?!" Thus Myrtle was born. I have to say that most of the time Myrtle remains in hiding, although she sometimes comes out when we're least expecting it. Kenney's very good at giving me that "Myrtle is coming out" look. Bless his heart he doesn't say anything, he just gives me the "look" which is begging me to put the hideous article of clothing back on the sale rack and walk away slowly. But then once in a while, Myrtle and Christy decide they like something together. And then Christy decides she doesn't care if her husband thinks it'll make her look like a 90+ year old woman, and puts it in the cart anyway. And that my friends, happened last night at Wal-Mart. (are you surprised?!?!) I saw these pretty nightgowns, and I'm getting to a point where its uncomfortable to sleep at night as it is, but when you're not in something comfortable, it doesn't help at all. So i tried the on sale nightgowns on and decided they were comfortable and pretty. And yes, Kenney did give me the eye, but said "well, honey, if its what you want get it". Bless his heart. So here you have it...Myrtle, only pregnant...

P.S.
No I do not have multiple personalities...=)

Wonderful, Merciful Savior...

Ok, so Braydon has one CD that he listens to as he goes to sleep. It's called Praise Baby and has about 12 worship songs done in a relaxing way, and is perfect for him to fall asleep to. Since he's had this CD forever and a day using it to fall asleep to, I know the songs by heart. One of the songs on the CD is called Wonderful, Merciful Savior. I've sung it without even thinking about it many times. It wasn't until yesterday during church when a woman sang the song, and I saw the words under her on the projector did it really hit me. The words are so incredibly powerful, and even as I'm typing this, I find my eyes welling up with tears. Here are the words:

"Wonderful, merciful Savior
Precious Redeemer and Friend
Who would have thought that a Lamb
Could rescue the souls of men
Oh you rescue the souls of men

Counselor, Comforter, Keeper
Spirit we long to embrace
You offer hope when our hearts have
Hopelessly lost the way
Oh, we've hopelessly lost the way

You are the One that we praise
You are the One we adore
You give the healing and grace
Our hearts always hunger for
Oh, our hearts always hunger for

Almighty, infinite Father
Faithfully loving Your own
Here in our weakness You find us
Falling before Your throne
Oh, we're falling before Your throne"

The words just shot out at me: "Spirit we LONG to embarce" "You give the healing and grace that our hearts HUNGER for". It just totally spoke to me, and it is amazing to me, that I've sung the song a million times without even realizing the powerful words. I just wanted to share.

Celebrations of the 4th, in Christy terms...

Ok, so we've had lots going on lately. We've had a pipe burst in our kitchen, and now after they've "fixed" the pipe, we are now left with a smelly hole in our wall, with a portion of our cabinets sitting on the floor and food that was in the cabinet thrown all over the place. Its a mess. Now, granted, the place was not spotless prior to our "event", but it smells so bad and looks like my cabinets exploded, I can't even sleep there. Fortunately, we have the Hotel Sumner that was ready to accomodate us, (although the owners were no where to be found. =) haha.) So, to make a long story even longer, we are currently staying over here til they "fix" our smelly hole in the wall.

Alas, it is July 4th, a great day to be celebrated by the good Americans that we are. So far our day has consisted of an attempt to fix my visor in my car to no avail, watching mindless tv (and now the movie cars), looking for houses, and making a gourmet lunch of Peanut butter and jelly, or as Braydon calls it "gewl-deeee". I mean whats more american than a good ol' pb & j? Michal always told us that was one of the nastiest American food. He just couldn't understand it. more for us perhaps. =)

I'm really missing my family right now. I miss my sister and Mikey and Noah, and BabyMojo. I miss my mom & my dad. We saw Kenney's fam this past weekend and had a blast. Hurry up parents and sister....get HOME!
