Bummed

I know it sounds silly, because it is silly, but I'm bummed. Kenney's not coming home for lunch today. I look forward to seeing him at lunch, even though it goes so quickly. It's my little pick-me-up that makes my day seem better. But, alas, my dear husband has to work through lunch today. It's going to be a long day for him since he went in at 7 AM. So as you're reading this, say a quick prayer for him that he'll stay awake! =)

I don't think it sounds silly at all! I think it's wonderful that you enjoy having Kenney home at lunch. People use to think Dad and & I were strange that we loved to spend the day working together and then couldn't wait to go home and be together! Treasure these times because it is building the foundation for your future together. You need to stay best friends! We love you. Mom

Maybe I'm a bad wife, but I send Michal to school to get his lunch! One less to cook and clean for... Of course, the dining room is only about a minute's walk away and I think he enjoys it because no one is there to give him "looks" when he isn't eating what he should be!

haha I have to say I'm somewhere in between your mom and Rachel. I like when Kevin comes home early around lunchtime, but yes then he wants me to make him food, which I'd rather not do. So he makes mac & cheese from a box (barf) and I make the comments about having veggies. It is also nice because it gives you a few minutes to talk to an adult and have him take a kid for a few mins so you can take a mini-break =)

It's nice that you are able to have lunch with Kenney most of the time. I'm not able to see Jimmy at lunch during the week, and our lunch breaks are at different times so a phone call is out of the question. Jimmy has been taking his lunch at least three times a week, so I put a little note in his lunch bag. It's not much but I think he looks forward to them. But it's great that you both look forward to spending that few minutes together at lunch. I totally agree with your mom about treasuring those times together and I think it's really sweet that she and your dad loved to work together and be together at home!

Hope you have lots more special lunchtimes together.
